COACHMAN’S TRAIL TROOP 215

We are a Boy Scout troop sponsored by the Coachman’s Trail neighborhood association, and currently have 34 registered scouts.  The troop is boy led with adult mentors/advisors. Our scouts range from 11 through 17 year of age and are comprised of boys from both inside and outside the Coachman’s Trail neighborhood. Each scout must be represented by at least one parent in our troop as a committee member or as an assistant scoutmaster.

We hold troop meetings every Monday night at the Coachman’s Trail Clubhouse from 7pm to 8:30 PM. There are monthly PLC (Patrol Leader Committee) meetings where the scout leadership works on the upcoming programmed events and campouts. The program includes merit badges we work on as a troop, weekend campout or activity each month, Adopt-A-Highway workdays, Food Collection drives, 3 Court of Honors, weeklong summer camp, and many other fun activities.

Our weekend campouts/activities have included things like a 5-Day backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail, Rafting on the New River, Mountain Biking in Western Carolina, Rock Climbing, Scuba Diving, Caving, Survival Camping, Raft Building, Ice skating, Fort Bragg parachute jumps, Polar Bear campouts, canoeing, Dutch Oven cookouts, and the list goes on.
